About Moe
Moe has been a full time Voice Over Talent since 2004. In the course of her career she has recorded voiceovers for Fortune 100’s, Startups, Non-Profits, Hospitals, Colleges and Major Municipalities on six continents. She’s still waiting on that big Antarctic break =) A political junkie, Moe has voiced campaign commercials for innumerable races in over 35 states. Her experience, unique background, and skillset raise her above her peers in the VO industry.
A formally trained Stage Actress, who has done Standup Comedy, and Professional Story Telling, Moe knows how to deliver your story, whether it’s an audiobook narration, or a :30 spot about toilet paper. She is real, relatable, and has impeccable comedic timing, with a touch of snark. Moe learned how to edit audio in college on a reel to reel with a razor blade – when you only had one chance to get the edit right. So, recording and editing on a Digital Audio Workstation now is just plain fun. This is just one reason her turnaround time for VO jobs is as quick as it is – editing is second nature to her.
Why do Clients, Companies and Campaigns keep choosing Moe?
Easy, she’s dependable. She’s professional. She has amazing vocal range: from warm/nurturing/motherly reads, to funny/quirky comedic bits and accented character voices, to hard-hitting political spots full of gravitas- she’s got you covered. Moe takes direction well (see above about being a trained actress). She’s a pleasure to work with. Moe meets (and often exceeds) your deadline. Working full time from her home studio, The Purple Room of Isolation, Moe is able to turn most work around within 24 hours, sooner if you need it.
Prior to becoming a full time VOA, Moe had a career path that wove in and out of radio, politics and PR. Her final gig in the world of radio was as the cohost and anchor for New Hampshire’s award winning, ‘Mike and Moe in the Morning’ talk show. There is nothing like covering politics in the First in the Nation Primary State! Her time in the anchor chair taught her how to work well under pressure; at least one sitting governor told her that she was the first voice he heard every morning.
Performance abilities, politics, public relations, have woven together to serve as the foundation of her voice acting career.
Voice Acting is acting.
Moe studied acting at Skidmore College and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Theater. That’s not a typo; Skidmore believes that theater, acting, is a science. At Skidmore, she discovered college radio, and graduated as General Manager of WSPN. She developed a lifelong love of acting and radio. Looking back, her successful VO career was in the cards, it’s the perfect marriage of these two skills.
After college, a coin flip decided her career path, and radio it was. The Production Manager at her first radio station realized she studied acting, and asked for her to occasionally voice commercials…and that’s when her journey with voice overs began.
Woven throughout her career where many side quests.
All things political. Moe not only covered politics in NH as a reporter, she’s also been a paid staffer on two Presidential Campaigns, and a Gubernatorial Campaign – in two different parties. She understands the time crunch and huge pressure that campaigns are under from the inside out. She knows the importance of the voice overs in relaying your candidate’s message, and how fluid and fast campaigns run. She’s become a dependable element in many winning campaigns across the country.
Moe is flexible enough to meet your schedule, trained enough to take your direction, and experienced enough that she can deliver the sound you’re looking for – hard hitting, genuine concern, empowering call to action, or gravitas filled messages of warning. Moe loves political voice overs. There’s nothing like a little righteous indignation to start your day off right.
She also worked as a PR Consultant for companies including US Cellular, and she founded a PAC that won a local referendum question which opened the door to build the now-named SNHU Arena.
But seriously…On the other end of the spectrum, Moe did stand-up comedy in Providence, Boston and around Maine and NH. Comedic timing and improve skills? Check and check.
Delivering the information.
Throughout Moe’s meandering career path, there has been one common thread, she is a conduit for information. Whether it is narrating eLearning modules for the Department of Education or employee training videos for Aldi; delivering local news as an anchor, creating public relations campaigns that define a brand and enhance client loyalty, or, being the voice on your phone message updating your dealership’s monthly specials, her focus has always been getting information from one group or individual to another. Engaging the audience, encouraging action, teaching a skill, or changing a mind.
Best job ever. Moe raised three kids as a single mom doing voice work full time in suburban New Hampshire. The great thing about being a freelancing creative is that you can weave your work into your life. Blending work life and real life has always been important to Moe. One of her proudest achievements is having homeschooled her eldest through high school. Moe put her kids through college and paid the mortgage doing what she loves, where she wants to be. Now that the kids are grown & flown and the house is quiet, she’s able to further explore the world of audiobook narration.
Moe Egan’s success is very much based on doing what she loves and what she’s good at doing. She becomes a part of your team, understands your message and helps deliver it to your correct audience. Over the years, clients have become partners, partners have become friends.
Her voice, delivery, cadence, and consistency are the delivery mechanisms for your message, your brand. Find out why so many clients from all over the world trust their words to her voice again, and again.
Her voice will become the voice in your head.
